Nomadic Tempest

A warning tale of climate warming, taken port to port aboard a treasure laden pirate ship

/

Nomadic Tempest is the latest show by travelling theatre outfit the Caravan Stage Company. Hailing from Canada the CSC has been touring shows worldwide since 1970 originally by horse and carriage with a big top tent as stage, then from the late 1990s onwards using a self built replica Thames sailing barge both as travelling home and theatre stage. The shows mix narrative singing, aerial performance, projections and lighting to deliver a show with a socially conscious message. I conveyed messages using real time performed graphics projected on huge semi transparent scrim nets attached to the ship, and designed a large pod like structure with an audacious mirror projection system inside which video was projected on all sides of the pod, as the centrepiece for the show. Boat life.
